Move-In Made Easy: What to Know Before You Settle In
New Keys, NEw Beginnings!
Congratulations on your new home!
Moving into a new space is an exciting milestone—but let’s be real, it can also feel a bit overwhelming. Between packing, cleaning, organizing, and trying to remember everything that needs to get done, it’s easy to feel like you’re juggling a hundred things at once.
To make your transition as smooth and stress-free as possible, we’ve put together a quick guide covering everything you need to know before and after your move-in day. Let’s dive in!
🔑 Keys & Door Codes
Depending on your building, you’ll receive one or more of the following: a physical key, an electronic fob, and/or a door code. These will be provided to you on or before move-in day.
💡 Lost key? There’s a $30 replacement fee, so keep your keys safe!
⚠️ For security reasons, please don’t share door codes with anyone who doesn’t live in the building—including food delivery drivers or service technicians.
🏡 Change of Address
If you haven’t already, now’s the time to officially update your address to make sure all your important mail gets forwarded correctly. Even if you provided a forwarding address to your previous landlord, you should still file an official Change of Address with USPS.
👉 You can do this easily online or at any Post Office:

⚡ Utilities & Internet Setup
In many of our communities, residents are responsible for setting up and managing their own electricity and Wi-Fi services. If you choose to have cable TV, that will also be your responsibility.
Electricity
All of our properties are serviced by Green Mountain Power. You’ll need to create an account—either in your name or your roommate’s—before or at move-in.
✅ Use their website or mobile app to get started.
Wi-Fi / Cable
If you're moving into 144 Larkin Way, good news—Wi-Fi is included! But you still need to activate your connection by setting up an account with 802 Networks.
For all other properties, internet service is up to you. Our buildings are compatible with:

🚗 Parking Info
Parking policies vary slightly by location, so be sure to check your specific building’s guidelines. Here's a general overview:
Most properties: Each leaseholder receives a parking pass, plus one visitor pass per unit.
Underground parking buildings: Each unit gets an assigned garage spot.
Outdoor lots: Parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
🚨 Make sure your pass is clearly displayed to avoid any issues and always park within the lines out of respect for your neighbors.
❌ No parking passes are issued at 1185 Shelburne Rd and 144 Larkin Way.
📝 Move-In Inspection Sheet
When you pick up your keys, you’ll also receive a Move-In Inspection Sheet. This form helps you document the current condition of your new home—and ensures you won’t be held responsible for any pre-existing damage.
Here’s what to do:
1. Carefully inspect each area of your apartment
2. Note anything that’s damaged, missing, or not functioning properly.
3. Return the completed form within 72 hours of move-in.
📸 You can hand it in or just snap a photo and email or text it to your property manager. Quick and easy!
Final Tip
Moving doesn’t have to be chaotic. With a little preparation—and this guide in your back pocket—you’ll be ready to settle in and start enjoying your new home in no time.
Welcome to the neighborhood!
